I was a latch-key kid. I spent a lot of time on public transportation. To pass the time I studied people. Watched them. Listened to them. Imagined what their homes looked like, what music they listened to, who they loved. I’d wonder who taught them how to catch the L. Who taught them how to survive.
You must be thinking: "What a nosy child." I was.
I tell stories about the tools we're handed to survive, and the beautiful, often hilarious chaos that happens when someone finally puts them down.
